The Applikon My-Control in detail.
The my-Control is Applikon’s most advanced bioreactor controller for small-scale cultivation — built for the screening, media-optimisation and parallel-development work where benchtop space, throughput and consumable cost all matter at once. A single unit runs working volumes from 50 mL through to 3 L total volume on MiniBio vessels (250 / 500 / 1000 mL), Applikon autoclavable glass bioreactors up to 3 L, and small single-use systems including AppliFlex ST, CellReady and Eppendorf BioBlu. The controller stands 19 × 35 cm on the bench, weighs 8.5 kg and ships with a colour-coded indicator band so a row of units stays visually organised across a parallel campaign. Adaptive PID with autotuning regulates pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, agitation, foam and level; up to four variable-speed pumps and up to four mass-flow controllers handle liquid and gas additions; Peltier elements deliver clean heating and cooling for small vessels, with cold-water-valve cooling available for larger configurations. The killer feature is the Multi-Reactor-Interface: link up to 8 MiniBio reactors to a single console and run a parallel screening campaign that would otherwise consume eight times the bench space and eight times the operator effort.
Experience and quality in every detail.
The my-Control is engineered by Applikon, the worldwide reference in bioprocess instrumentation, with decades of field-proven experience supplying universities, biotech start-ups and biopharmaceutical organisations. Each unit is built to strict industrial standards — full IQ/OQ/PQ support, GAMP 4 compliance, validation documentation and a 21 CFR Part 11-compliant environmental capability. The my-Control is also available as part of the Applikon BioBundles, ready-to-use bioreactor systems that ship pre-configured with a vessel and the matching consumables for immediate start-up.
Easy operation with professional process control.
The my-Control is operated through its built-in web server — accessible from any computer or tablet on the network, no proprietary software installation required. Adaptive PID with autotuning keeps setpoints tracked even as broth viscosity, cell density or oxygen demand shift through the run. Liquid additions are handled by up to four variable-speed pumps mounted at the front of the unit; gas strategy by up to four mass-flow controllers. Temperature control runs through Peltier elements for small vessels — fast, electrical, no plumbing — and switches to cold-water-valve cooling for larger configurations. A USB connection accepts optional sensors (balances, biomass, fluorophore pH and DO probes), and the controller speaks Lucullus PIMS, OPC UA and V-Control SCADA out of the box for clean integration with any existing bioprocess data environment. Where parallel work is the goal, the Multi-Reactor-Interface stitches up to 8 MiniBio reactors into a single coordinated platform — one operator, one console, eight live runs.

Advanced control, minimal benchtop.
The my-Control is engineered for labs that need full bioprocess control without giving up bench space. A 19 × 35 cm footprint, a built-in web server reachable from any device on the network, and adaptive PID with autotuning combine to deliver the regulation depth of a much larger controller in the smallest practical package. Whether the work is a single MiniBio vessel or eight reactors orchestrated via the Multi-Reactor-Interface, the my-Control adapts — selectable adaptive PID, up to four variable-speed pumps, up to four mass-flow controllers and Peltier-based heating and cooling all delivered in one unit. The colour-coded indicator bands keep a parallel rack visually organised; the web-browser operation keeps the operator off the bench when remote supervision is enough.

Precise control over every small-scale bioprocess parameter
The my-Control delivers precision over every bioprocess variable that matters in a small-scale run. pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, agitation, foam and level are monitored and regulated in real time, with adaptive PID and autotuning compensating as conditions shift through the cultivation. Temperature control runs through Peltier elements for small vessels — fast, electrical, no plumbing — and switches to cold-water-valve cooling for larger configurations. Liquid additions are handled by up to four variable-speed pumps at the front of the unit; gas strategy by up to four mass-flow controllers. PAT-grade integration with Lucullus PIMS, OPC UA and V-Control SCADA means every measurement that matters lands in the data record and feeds directly into the existing process-data infrastructure.

What is the my-Control workflow?
The my-Control workflow runs across three phases.
Install. Plug your MiniBio, Applikon Autoclavable Glass Bioreactor or AppliFlex ST single-use bioreactor in and reach the controller through its built-in web server — any browser on the network, no software installation, no dedicated workstation. Attach the sensor stack through the analogue and digital inputs, configure PID loops, and run IQ/OQ qualification where regulatory posture requires it.
Configure. Build the campaign through the web interface. Define the recipe — control loops, mass-flow and pump assignments, alarm chains and data-logging cadence. Auto-tune each loop against the empty vessel or against your historical setpoint baseline. Map the controller into the wider lab software landscape: Lucullus PIMS for structured data and batch reporting, OPC UA for plant-level SCADA, V-Control for DeltaV environments.
Operate. Launch the campaign and run from the recipe. Adaptive PID with autotuning compensates as conditions evolve and keeps every parameter on track from inoculation to harvest. To run in parallel, link multiple my-Control units through the Multi-Reactor-Interface and supervise the whole set from one console — more data per shift, lower per-run cost. GAMP 4 classified with an optional 21 CFR Part 11-compliant environment and full IQ/OQ/PQ documentation.

Spec your my-Control with Resea Biotec
The Applikon my-Control is the most advanced bioprocess controller in the Applikon range for small-scale work — purpose-built for the 50 mL – 3 L volumes where screening, optimisation and early process development happen. Browser-operated, GAMP 4 classified, with adaptive PID across pH, DO, temperature, agitation, foam and level. Compatible with Applikon MiniBio, Applikon Autoclavable Glass Bioreactor(up to 3 L) and AppliFlex ST single-use bioreactors — and orchestrates up to 8 reactors in parallel through the Multi-Reactor-Interface, with colour-coded indicator bands keeping parallel-set organisation visible at a glance.
